Two-way radios: A Contemporary Communications Device.

Two way radios have a huge range of applications and uses, we may not think of them as important as newer technology in this day and age, but actually they are a necessary component of reliable communication. Two-way radios work through radio waves or frequencies. These frequencies are always available and offer communications reliability that is incomparable!

Two way radios are used in both large and small business, specialized mobile radios are used for businesses that demand communication with off site employees. Vehicle mounted two-way radios are widely used by safety and other transportation dependant services. Desktop based radios offer a wide range of uses from intercom systems to powerful public address systems.

We sometimes think of two-way radios as toys such as walkie talkies, but that’s just a small part of how two-way radios are used today. Two way radios are an integral communication method for any business that requires messages to be sent to employees in a timely fashion: from warehouses to delivery docks, a two-way radio ensures an open line of communication and provides smooth productivity. We often see specialized mobile radios being used in taxi’s and airport shuttles allowing us to get to our destinations safely and on time.

Golf courses, campgrounds and parks use a special form of two-way radio called wireless call boxes. These types of two-way radios allow us to send and receive important messages without the hassle of having to drive directly to an office to get our questions answered. We can even order food or equipment over a two-way radio call box allowing us the convenience to continue with our activities uninterrupted.

A two way radio call box can offer us roadside assistance in an emergency and help us call for help when a cell phone is not available for use. College Campuses and schools are increasing security measures and two-way radios are a big part of that. Call boxes and two-way radio intercoms are helping to deter crime and keep our students safe. Parking garages are also being equipped with two-way radio technology as a safety measure.

Airports use specialized mobile radios in a myriad of ways. Airports cover large distances and allow employees to interact from separate areas of the terminal. As airport security becomes more and more important, so does the use of two-way radios.

Hospitals use two way radios to ensure communication over public address systems to alert large groups. Specialized mobile units keep staff connected and patients rooms are equipped with call buttons to alert medical staff of their needs.

You’ll find two-way radio technology being used in construction sites as an important safety measure. Hotels and resorts often use specialized mobile radios keeping the lines of communication open and maximizing the enjoyment of their guests. Private gated facilities use two-way radios to allow or deny entrance to the property and ensure the privacy of those who reside within the gates. In home use for two way radios is on the rise as we are often responsible to care for our elderly relatives and we need a reliable way to stay in touch to provide the best care we can.

If we take stock in the many uses of two-way radios we see they are not are not a thing of the past. Two-way radios are vital communications tools used to make everyday life run more smoothly.
